Cosmetology School Accreditation

Accreditation in cosmetology education is important because it means that an institutions cosmetology program met national standards set by cosmetology professionals and industry. While accreditation does not mean that all schools & programs will be identical, it does guarantee that the student receives a credible education of quality and of value to the cosmetology industry.

The largest accrediting body for beauty and cosmetology schools the National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences (NACCAS). Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, NACCAS currently accredits roughly 1,000 cosmetology schools.
